WORK. Most of us go to a job 5 out of 7 days a week and it can take up a lot of our time. Sometimes we don’t expect it to inspire us because work can definitely become a routine especially if you do the same things every day. But last week as I was prepping for a visit from the big boss, it made me pay closer attention to the color blocks in each area. A corner of the store is called the indigo corner with t-shirts, button ups, and denim in all shades of blue. It definitely caught my eye and all this week I’ve been dressing up in blue.
I have always loved blues and my eyes are always attracted to different teals. In this particular outfit, I did my usual denim on denim and paired it with a navy jacket. The trick to making denim on denim work is wearing different shades of blue and textures. I wore denim jeans with a chambray top which is softer than the denim. Then the navy jacket ties all the blue together. I added a neutral color with my camel colored scarf that I have worn obsessively and taupe booties to make the look more wearable. Head to toe blue is a little scary for me.
Blues aren’t usually associated with spring but it can take you out of the black and gray slump that usually comes with winter dressing. I definitely have learned to love dressing in monochromatic colors and hope you can dabble in this as well with some blues. I already know I’ll be wearing another all blue outfit this week with my big visit. Wish me luck!
