In the past few months, I have gone through a lot of changes personally, creatively, and professionally. I took some time off of work to focus on answering the WHYs behind many of the decisions I have made. Some of them revolved around why I was working my job and why I wanted to pursue styling at all. I was tired of going through my unexciting and honestly unrewarding work weeks where I didn’t feel like I had a purpose or impact.
On my break, I was able to revive the creative passion that I had for styling. I started blogging regularly and even started a YouTube channel with my friend. I started doing things that I wanted to do and learned that I could turn the fear of the unknown into a motivating factor to jumpstart my ideas again.
I recently did a photoshoot around the idea of minimalism. Sometimes I get too caught up in the details of producing extravagant work and then lose focus on the big picture. The photoshoot really coincided with my need to want to simplify everything in my life and it helped me to develop my aesthetic, clean and simple.
