Envision Spring 2016 Fashion Show

Last Saturday, I went to the Envision Spring 2016 Fashion Show with my long time friend, Mai. Please show her some love at her site! Envision showcases local talent in Minnesota and allows fashionistas to get together. I love attending these shows to see the creative minds of local designers, people watching, and picking up on trends.

Envision showcased work from:

Cory Allen
Emily Trevor
Form over Function
Hiccup by Handley
Jenny Carle
Joeleen Torvick
Russell Bourrienne

Many of the outfits were simple and very detailed. Some of my favorite works from the lineup were white pieces. I might just be in the summer mindset but these pieces stood out to me more than others. I loved the hints of color that were used as well to create contrast to monochromatic looks.

Besides the show, I also did some people watching. Does anyone else enjoy that? There were people dressed casually in sweaters and jeans while others were in fur pieces. But what did I choose to wear?

After a long day at work, I really wanted to slip into my sweats and just relax. I’m the type that comes home after work and immediately slip into something more comfortable at home.  I couldn’t show up in sweats to a fashion show! I slipped on a loose fitting top, a pair of black wide leg pants, and a pair of heels. To edge it up I went with a wrap choker necklace. With very little time to beautify myself, I opted for a low sleek pony tail. When in doubt, the pony tail is the easiest hairstyle.
